About the host

Ricardo Chamorro is the Co-Founder and CEO of Examen, an AI analyst built for the commercial real estate teams that acquire, manage, and operate property.

He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago and began his career at BCG, advising private equity and technology clients on acquisition due diligence.

He went on to Bain Capital as a software and AI investor, helping lead the firm's real estate software efforts and seeing up close where the industry was ready for technology and where it was not.

Ricardo and his brother Diego come from a family in real estate, and that hands-on view of how the work really gets done is what led them to found Examen together.

Today he leads Examen's work with acquisitions, investment management, and asset management teams, giving them an AI analyst that reads documents, builds models, and drafts reports inside the tools they already use.

His focus is on giving commercial real estate teams the analytical firepower of a full bench, inside the tools they already work in.

About the show

The Memo is the inside memo on how commercial real estate is actually adopting AI, made for the owners, operators, lenders, brokers, and developers deciding where it fits. Hosted by Ricardo Chamorro, the show explores how firms move AI from boardroom discussion into everyday business process.

Each episode features conversations with the owners, operators, lenders, developers, and technology leaders putting AI to work across leasing, asset management, acquisitions, credit, construction, and investor reporting.

Together, they get into what it takes to put AI into the workflow, from underwriting models built in minutes to lease abstractions done before kickoff. What's working, what's changed, and what CRE still won't trust AI to touch.
