About Pave Talent

Pave Talent is a US-based recruitment agency specialising in helping high-growth technology companies scale their teams. Led by founder and CEO Jeff Brown, the firm partners with venture-backed startups and mid-market tech brands to deliver high-quality US based and offshore talent solutions with a focus on speed, fit, and strategic alignment.

The Problem

Before working with ThePod.fm, Jeff relied heavily on cold email and traditional outbound campaigns to generate new business.

The outreach lacked traction with senior decision-makers, and the business was struggling to create a consistent flow of qualified opportunities.

After first reaching out to us in February, Jeff decided to continue running outbound internally to see if he could turn things around. His team spent hundreds of dollars reaching leads — supported by premium data tools like ZoomInfo, which alone costs firms $15,000–$20,000 per year.

The result? Two lukewarm replies after contacting hundreds of leads — still no meaningful conversations or meetings.

For a recruitment firm operating in a competitive US tech market, that inconsistency meant unpredictable revenue and a heavy dependence on referrals.

By April, Jeff made the decision to move forward with ThePod.fm — to build a system that could finally deliver consistent, high-quality meetings with the right people.

From that point on, he didn’t have to manage a single moving part.

ThePod.fm handled everything end to end — data sourcing, outreach, podcast production, and guest management — so Jeff could focus solely on what mattered most: having meaningful conversations with founders and executives who could also become clients.

“We’ve sent out hundreds of cold emails and just haven’t seen any real engagement. I think we got two replies — and even those didn’t turn into meetings,” - Jeff Brown

Their Ideal Client Profile

Pave Talent wanted to build genuine relationships with C-suite leaders at funded technology companies — founders, CEOs, and co-founders — who had raised capital within the past two years and were actively investing in talent.

The focus was on venture-backed tech firms across the US that were in growth mode and looking for recruitment partners who understood the scale-up journey — not agencies chasing roles, but strategic talent partners who could help them hire faster and smarter.

The Podcast

Together, we developed Trailblazers — a podcast by Pave Talent, designed to spotlight innovative tech founders and leaders shaping the future of work, growth, and leadership.

The name Trailblazers reflected the core message of Pave Talent’s brand — helping companies and individuals carve new paths in talent and innovation. From the outset, our goal was to make the show feel like an extension of the Pave Talent experience: professional, aspirational, and deeply human.

ThePod.fm led the full creative direction and build-out, including:

  • Naming and positioning to align with Pave Talent’s growth-focused brand identity.

  • Visual identity and artwork featuring modern typography, bold gradients, and a directional arrow motif symbolising progress and forward movement.

  • Intro and outro scripting that framed each episode with clarity and authority.

  • A dedicated podcast landing page that automatically updated with the latest episodes — boosting SEO, credibility, and discoverability for prospective guests and clients. Designed by ThePod.fm.

Each episode followed a 25–30 minute founder-to-founder conversation, designed to open doors with the exact decision-makers Pave Talent wanted to connect with.

“The connections you make doing this type of lead gen strategy are much more authentic and much deeper than a cold call or cold email. You’re able to create real relationships that last a lot longer than just a quick pain point because you called them on the right day.” — Jeff Brown

The Conversations

For many founders, the idea of running a podcast feels like a heavy lift — from recording logistics to making the conversations feel natural.

But after going through our training materials - for Jeff it quickly became the easiest and most enjoyable part of the process.

With ThePod.fm managing every operational detail — from outreach and guest booking to prep questions and scheduling — all he had to do was show up and have real conversations.

Each discussion felt less like a formal interview and more like a genuine founder-to-founder conversation.

That authenticity carried through to the intro calls as well. Because guests were already engaged through the podcast, the transition to business discussions felt natural and unforced.

Instead of pitching, Jeff was connecting — building trust first, and exploring opportunities second.

The change in approach turned what were once transactional sales calls into meaningful discussions — with founders who saw real value in staying connected.

“It’s been relatively easy. You just create an authentic conversation that naturally happens — like a coffee chat about things I’m genuinely interested in.” - Jeff Brown

The Outcome

By turning outreach into authentic, story-driven conversations, Jeff built a repeatable system for C-level engagement — one that consistently connects him with high-value founders and executives across the tech industry.

Beyond the immediate $200K in new pipeline, the system gave Pave Talent something more powerful: a sustainable growth engine.

At ThePod.fm, we believe genuine conversations drive real business growth. Pave Talent is proof that when you replace outreach with relationships, the results compound far beyond any campaign.
